How to assess the risks in your workplace:

• Look for the HAZARDS

• Decide who might be harmed and in what way

• Evaluate the risks so that you can decide if your current precautions are adequate or need to be examined

• Record all of the findings

• Review the assessment and revise as necessary.

Hazard: defined as anything that can cause harm (e.g. chemicals, electricity, working from ladders etc.)

Risk: defined as the chance, high or low, that somebody will be harmed by the hazard
